Joao Manuel Alvarez

Joao Manuel Alvarez, MAOM, L.Ac., develops comprehensive and individualized treatment plans that integrate Chinese herbal medicine, acupuncture, nutrition, and Qi Gong to promote optimal health and wellbeing.

Mr. Alvarez studied classical philosophy and medical anthropology at New York University, where he researched medicinal plants of the Amazon Rainforest and explored the connections between quantum physics and traditional energy medicine.

During his time at NYU, he completed a three-year intensive internship in Er Mei Qi Gong under the guidance of Sifu David Knoll and Master Wei Zhong Fu.

Mr. Alvarez later graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA), the oldest college of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the United States. There, he completed a rigorous four-year Master's Degree program studying Chinese and Japanese acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Chinese nutritional medicine, and Eight Organ Harmony Qi Gong.

Through his integrative approach, Mr. Alvarez helps patients achieve balance, improve overall wellness, and address both acute and chronic health concerns through evidence-based traditional healing practices.
